Mississippi Blues Trail

The Mississippi Blues Trail is a project by the Mississippi Blues Commission that offers an immersive journey into the history of blues music. Established in 2006, the trail features markers across the state, each highlighting significant individuals, places, and events in the development of the blues. Key sites include the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center, the Gateway to the Blues Museum and Visitors Center, and the Delta Blues Museum. The trail not only celebrates the historical roots of the blues but also showcases the current blues scene with live performances in various clubs and music festivals across Mississippi. Supported by organizations like the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the trail is an ongoing effort to preserve and promote the heritage of blues music, providing insights into the genre that laid the foundation for modern popular music.
